Ferryboat Solano circa 1903

Carquinez Strait, Rail car ferryboat Solano was built in Oakland in 1879 for the Central Pacific Railroad and carried freight cars between Benicia and Port Costa until 1930. [261 - Southern Pacific Steamer Solano, San Francisco Bay. Largest ferry boat in the world.] (inscription - postmark Dec 11,1908)
