Grove & Hyde Mar 12, 1899

James Lick Pioneer Monument in City Hall Square (renamed Marshall Square in 1902) After the earthquake, the new civic center was built and both Hyde and Grove were extended through the former Marshall Square, the monument remained in its original location which became the northwest corner. It was moved to Fulton Street in the 1990's when the new library was built. [SF-2-201 - Lick monument and City Hall, 3/12/1899]
