Castro near Market Apr 28, 1901

East side of Castro between 17th & 18th (now the site of the Castro Theatre) 429 Castro a Carpenter Gothic home with a windmill and water tank at rear. It was built around 1862 by Marshall Meeteer who lived there until his death in 1886. the house and grounds were purchased by Andrew Spaulding, a jeweler and watchmaker. It survived until about 1921.
