Presidio Jul 23, 1917

Private Eddie Conrad seated in decorated Maxwell car and posing with the gilded baseball he retrieved when it was thrown into the crowd before an exhibition game between the Seals and Oakland Oaks in the Presidio. It is not clear what he won. An estimated 12,000 people attended the game which was sponsored by the SF Call newspaper. (this photo published in the SF Call, July 27, 1917 pg 16)
